Nifty & Bank Nifty prediction for tomorrow 25 Feb: Indian stock market opened positive and continued to trade in the positive terrain throughout the day. Trading on NSE halted at 11.40 am due to some technical issues on the Exchange side, the pending orders were all canceled. The NSE trading resumed at 3.45 again and traded till 5 pm. BSE Sensex was operational at its normal trading hours and later extended up to 5 pm along with NSE. In the end, markets made a strong gain today.

The market sentiments were upbeat with a private report that India’s GDP may turn positive at 1.3% in the December end quarter of 2020-21. India’s GDP has witnessed a contraction in the previous two quarters due to the coronavirus pandemic. Traders took note of the report that India and Mauritius have signed a free trade agreement, under which over 300 domestic goods from agriculture, textiles, electronics, and other sectors will get market access at concessional customs duties in the African nation.

On the global front, Asian markets were closed mostly in the red as investors weighed the possibility that inflation might prompt central banks to adjust their all-time-low interest rate policies. The European markets are trading higher due to the better than expected growth in Germany’s economy. The US futures indices are trading mixed, Dow futures trading marginally higher whereas Nasdaq future is trading marginally lower.

 

Markets Today: Sensex, Nifty, and Bank Nifty on the spot price

 

At the close, Nifty gained 274.20 points or 1.87% and closed at 14982 levels while Sensex was up by 1030.28 points or 2.08% and finished at 50781.69 levels. The Bank Nifty was trading strong today, it closed higher by 1335.35 points or 3.81% and ended at 36452.30 levels.

The  Nifty midcap and smallcap also made a decent gain today. The Nifty midcap index gained 237.40 points or 1.03% and closed at 23,290.80 levels. The smallcap index was up by 74.50 points or 0.94% and closed at 8033.95 levels.

The top five gainers in the Nifty50 index were HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Coal India, ICICI Bank, and Bajaj Finance. The top five losers in the Nifty50 index were UPL, Power Grid, Dr. Reddy’s Lab, JSW Steel, and TCS. The most active stocks in the Nifty50 index were Tata Motors, SBI, and Tata Steel.

On the sectoral front, barring IT & Software all other major sectors closed in the green today. Banking, Finance, Capital goods, Consumer Durables, and  Oil & Gas sectors were closed as top gaining sectors today. 

 

Nifty & Bank Nifty futures price today

 

The Nifty futures share price opened at 14755.15 made a gap up opening of 43.6 points. It has touched an intraday high at 15524 and a day’s low at 14714.50. The day’s high made was not available for trade neither visible on the chart, maybe a trade happened by mistake.

The Nifty futures share price has given a movement of 809.5 points. In the end, it gained 285.2 points or 1.94 % and closed at 14996.75 levels.

The Bank Nifty futures share price opened at 35090 It made a negative opening of 29.85 points today. It has touched an intraday high at 36553.80 and a day’s low at 35035

During the day, the Bank Nifty futures share price has given a movement of 1518.8 points. In the end, the Bank Nifty futures gained 1417.35 points or 4.04% and closed at 36537.20 levels.

Suppose Bank Nifty futures share price Moves Above 36850 and sustain. Then you should Buy with the 1st Target of 37040 during the day with a Stop Loss of  36040. FOR the Target of 37040 – 37320- 37540

If the Bank Nifty futures share price Moves Below 36040 and sustained. Then you should Sell with the 1st Target of 35925 during the day with a Stop Loss of 36850. FOR the Target of 35925 – 35790- 35530

 

Conclusions: 

Indian stock markets made a sharp gain during the extended hours of trade today. The news of the Centre has lifted the restrictions on grants of government businesses to private banks has boosted the market sentiments and a strong rally seen in the Bank Nifty.
