Global Stock Markets today

On the global front, other Asian market indexes closed mixed on Thursday. Asian indexes opened in the red but later trim their early losses as a survey showed that Japan manufacturing expanded in March. However, investors are worried about aggressive rate hikes in the coming US Fed policy, after policymakers’ hawkish comments on Wednesday.  The rising tensions between Washington and Bejing after China warned about aiding sanctions-hit Russia also hit market sentiments. China’s Shanghai was down 0.63 percent at close on Thursday.

European indexes are trading flat with slightly negative at this moment at 5 pm IST as the war in Ukraine worsened and investors eyed more sanctions against Russia. The US future index, Dow, and Nasdaq futures are trading higher at this moment.

Conclusion

Indian markets erased early losses and traded volatile in a narrow range. The cues from the global markets were not supportive and so the indexes closed marginally lower today. Investors all eyes are on the outcome of the NATO summit as the market can get the direction to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine tension.
