Global markets today

On the global front, the other Asian markets closed mixed following the mixed cues from Wall Street on Friday as traders reacted to mixed US corporate earnings news from several big-name companies.

European market indexes are trading mixed on Monday as investors sat on the sidelines ahead of another raft of the big corporate earnings reports. European markets tracking the other Asian peers, where markets were closed mixed, even after China Evergrande’s interest payments. The US futures, Dow, and Nasdaq futures are trading flat at this time.

Conclusions

Indian stock markets snap 4-day losing streak to close higher on Monday. Global cues and strong corporate Q2 earnings helped the market to open higher but could not sustain for a long. Later, in the afternoon session, some selected banks like ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and SBI and financial stocks helped the market to close in the green, while the selling pressure in the midcap and smallcap indexes continued. Going ahead, markets are likely to see some more corrections in the coming days.
