Global Stock Markets today

On the global front, most of the other Asian markets closed lower on Wednesday following negative sentiments from Wall Street overnight, after the consumer confidence data dampened investors’ optimism and fuelled worries of recession. Currencies and stocks across the region fell due to the latest weak economic data from the US and also overshadowed the easing of Cov-19 restrictions in China.

European markets are trading lower on Wednesday as renewed recession fears from the US put the brakes on a rally sparked by China’s easing Covid-19 restrictions for travelers. The future indexes of US markets, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq futures are trading almost flat at this moment at 5.30 pm IST.

Conclusion

Indian markets traded volatile today ahead of the monthly F&O expiry as global market sentiments were mixed. The positive sentiments from China were overshadowed by the weak US economic data today. Going ahead, tomorrow’s markets will remain volatile due to monthly F&O expiry and US GDP data which is expected later today.
