Indian Share Market Live Today August 5: Markets are trading volatile in a narrow range, IT stocks are trading higher

Market Live Today 5 August: Indian stock markets opened in the green on Thursday, but immediately turned red due to negative global cues. Nifty opened at 16288.95, up by 30.15 points while Sensex made a positive opening of 206.87 points at 54576.64 levels. The Bank Nifty spot price also opened slightly higher at 36093.95 levels, up by 65.9 points from the previous close.

At 9.55 am IST, the benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading almost flat. The Bank Nifty spot price is trading 0.41 percent lower at this moment.

Eicher Motor, Wipro, and Bharti Airtel are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index whereas IndusInd Bank, IOC, and ONGC are trading as the top losers. SBI, Bharti Airtel, and Reliance are trading as the most active stocks in terms of value at this moment.

On a sectoral front, barring IT and Telecom all other major sectoral indexes are trading in the red. The sectors that are dragging the markets are Metals, Finance, Banking, Automobiles.

 

Indian share markets are likely to open higher today

Asian markets are trading mixed on Thursday tracking the mixed cues from Wall Street overnight. Nikkei is trading higher by 0.20 percent whereas Shanghai and Hang Seng are trading lower by 0.16 percent and 0.32 percent respectively. SGX Nifty is trading higher by 21 points at 16281 levels. The Indian stock markets may open higher today as per the indications getting from the SGX Nifty.

 

US market indexes

 

The US stock market indexes closed mixed on Wednesday on concerns that the pandemic recovery might be getting slow due to the surge in delta variants of the Covid-19. The new economic data also showed that the private sectors have added fewer jobs than the analyst expected in the month of July.

The US market Indexes, Dow Jones, and S&P 500 closed lower by 0.92 percent and 0.46 percent respectively. Whereas the tech-heavy Nasdaq closed higher by 0.13 percent on Wednesday.

 

European market indexes

 

European market indexes closed higher on Wednesday as upbeat corporate earnings offset investors’ worries about the rising delta variants of Covid-19 infections. On the data front, the eurozone Service PMI data expanded at its fastest pace in 15 years. The European market indexes FTSE and CAC gained 0.26 percent and 0.33 percent respectively. DAX was up by 0.88 percent on Wednesday.

 

Indian markets indexes

 

Indian share markets continued to touch a record high on Wednesday for the second consecutive day. The key benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty closed higher by 1.02 percent and 0.79 percent respectively. FIIs were the buyers and DIIs were the seller in the cash market. FIIs bought Rs 2828.57 crore while DIIs sold Rs 411.36 crore in the cash market segment.
