Indian Stock Market live today 3 Feb: Markets trimmed early gains but trading above their neutral lines

 

Market live today 3 Feb at 10 am IST:  It was a positive start for the Indian stock markets today as indicated by the global peers. Nifty opened at 14754.90, up by 107.5 points while Sensex made a positive opening of 433.34 points at 50231.06. The Bank Nifty on the spot price also opened higher at 34555.60 level, up by 287.7 points from the previous close.

At 10 am IST, Nifty and Sensex are trading higher by 0.71% and 0.69% respectively while Bank Nifty is also trading 0.45% up from yesterday’s close. 

IndusInd Bank, Dr. Reddy’s Lab, and Power Grid are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty Index whereas Kotak Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and HDFC Bank are trading as the top losers. The most active stocks in the Nifty Index at this moment are Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank, and Reliance.

On the sectoral front, Healthcare, IT & Software, and Consumer Durables are trading higher whereas Banks, Metals, and Real Estate sectors are trading marginally lower at this time.

 

Indian stock market may open higher today

Asian markets are mostly trading in the green. Nikkei is trading higher by 0.67% whereas Hang Seng and Shanghai are trading lower by 0.61% and 0.32% respectively. SGX Nifty is trading 57 points up at this moment. As per the indication getting from the Asian markets, Indian stock markets will open positively today.

The US stock markets closed in the green on Tuesday as the wave of speculative retail trading subsidizes and investors were focused on corporate earnings. The US market indices Dow and Nasdaq closed higher by 1.57% and 1.56% respectively while S&P 500 gained 1.39% on Tuesday.

European markets ended higher on Tuesday as investors were hopeful of a faster economic recovery. The technology shares gained on Tuesday after French IT consulting group Atos ended talks of a potential takeover of US rival DXC Technology. European market index FTSE closed higher by 0.78% while CAC and DAX gained 1.86% and 1.56% respectively on Tuesday.

Indian stock market rallied consecutively for the second trading days on positive measures announced in the Budget. The key indices Nifty and Sensex closed higher by 2.57% and 2.46% respectively. FIIs were the buyers and DIIs were sellers in the cash market segments. FIIs bought Rs 6181.56 crores whereas DIIs sold Rs 2035.2 crores in the cash market segment on Tuesday.

The new ‘Bad Bank” as announced by FM Nirmala Sitharaman in Union Budget will set up within a month or two as Financial Services Secretary Debashish Panda said on Tuesday. The Bad Bank is expected to address the non-performing assets (NPA)  crisis of the public sector banks.

Japan’s service sector shrank at the fastest pace in five months in January due to the resurgence in new coronavirus cases. The Jibun Bank Japan Services PMI dropped to a seasonally adjusted 46.1 from the previous months 47.7 recorded lowest since August 2020.
