Indian Stock Market Today, 28 Feb 2024: Indian stock market indexes opened marginally higher on Wednesday, as indicated by the Gift Nifty in the morning. The Nifty index opened slightly higher at 22214.10, up by 15.75 points, while the Sensex also made a positive opening of 67.6 points at 73162.82 levels. The Bank Nifty index also opened higher by 52.85 points at 46640.90 levels.

Meanwhile, the other major Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading lower except for Kospi and Jakarta, both are trading higher by 1.02% and 0.36% respectively. The Shanghai index is down by 0.67%.

Today Indian stock market indexes are trading slightly higher amid volatility. The Nifty 50 index is trading slightly higher by 10 points or 0.05 percent and at 22209 levels while the Sensex is up by 61 points or 0.11 percent, and at 73174 levels. The Bank Nifty index is also trading higher, by 67 points or 0.15 percent on the spot level and at 46663 levels.

The broader markets are trading mixed today, as the Nifty midcap index is down by 7 points or 0.02 percent and at 49033 levels. The Nifty smallcap index is trading higher, by 22 points or 0.14 percent at 16200 levels.

Among the sectors, IT, Financial Services, and Banks are in the green, while Realty, Auto, and Energy stocks are falling the most.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Tata Consumer, Tata Motors, Infy, Bharti Airtel, and TCS and the top losing stocks are Asian Paints, Apollo Hospital, Maruti, Bajaj-Auto, and M&M.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, and Bharti Airtel, and in terms of volume are Tata Motors, Power Grid, and Tata Steel.
