Indian Stock Market Weekly Updates 7-11 Nov 2022: Indian equity benchmarks closed higher for the fourth consecutive week, which ended on 11 November. Sensex and Nifty erased their weekly losses on the final day of the week and gained over 1 percent for the week. Both the indices hit their 52-Week high on Friday.

The market was very strong on Friday due to positive global cues, as the US inflation reported cooler than expected and raised hope of a slower pace of interest rate hike by the Fed in the December meeting.

Among the sectoral Indices PSU Bank, IT, Banking, and Metals closed higher for the week while some selling pressure was witnessed in Pharma and Auto shares during the week. The Bank Nifty index outperformed while the Nifty midcap and smallcap indexes underperformed as compared to the benchmark indices.

FIIs were the net buyers, they bought Rs 6329.63 crore while DIIs sold Rs 2255.91 crore worth of shares in the Indian stock markets during the week.

Indian Stock Market Indexes- Weekly (7-11 Nov 2022) Updates

On a weekly basis, the Indian equity benchmark indices closed more than one percent higher. Sensex gained 844.68 points or 1.39%, and closed at 61795.04, while the Nifty was up by 232.55 points or 1.28%, and ended at 18349.7 levels. The Bank Nifty index outperformed the benchmark indexes, closed higher by 878.6 points or 2.13 %, and finished at 42137.05 levels.

The broader markets underperformed the benchmarks this week. The Nifty midcap index closed lower by 326.2 points or 1.03 percent, and at 31381.7 levels. The Nifty small-cap index also fell by 50.35 points or 0.51 percent and ended at 9705.35 levels during the week.
