Indian stock market news today

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened below psychological levels on the back of nervousness among investors globally tacking newsflows on the Russia-Ukraine war. Investors are now worried about the surge in crude oil prices and its impact on economic growth. However, the markets got some support as the country’s Services PMI data stood at 51.8 in the month of February as compared to 51.5 in January due to the openness of business after the third wave of covid.

The continued escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war, soaring crude oil and other commodity prices, continuous selling pressure from FIIs were dampened Indian market sentiments. FIIs sold Rs 6645 crore in the cash sengement yesterday.

On the global front, the major Asian markets indexes closed in the red on Friday as investors closely monitored the development of the Russia-Ukraine war situation. European markets are also trading in the deep red, following reports that Russia had attacked a nuclear power plant in Ukraine
