Market Updates

Nifty Near 21000, Sensex Up 103 Points, PSU Banks Surge, Pharma Dips

Sensex and Nifty Today 11 December 2023: Indian stock markets ended the volatile session with minor gains on Monday. The domestic markets opened cautiously despite positive cues from Asian and US markets and traded near their neutral lines.

Investors were cautious, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its ‘Inflation expectations survey of households (IESH) November 2023’ has shown that households expect some rise in price and inflationary pressures across major product groups for the year ahead. The survey was conducted on November 21, 2023, in 19 major cities, with responses from 6,036 urban households.

However, indices managed to close in the green, amid reports that foreign portfolio investors (FPI/FIIs) injected Rs 26,505 crore into the Indian equity markets in the first six trading sessions of this month on expectations of political stability after the BJP stormed to power in three major states and robust economic growth.
