Nifty, Sensex Dip Amidst Negative Global Cues

Sensex and Nifty Today Sept 13, 2023: Indian stock market indices opened slightly lower on Wednesday, following the negative global cues. The Nifty index made a flat to negative opening of 3.7 points at 19989.50 levels, while Sensex also opened slightly lower by 32.5 points at 67188.64 levels. The Bank Nifty also opened negative at 62 points at the 45449.35 level.

Market Live at 9.30 am IST, The Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading flat at this moment. The Bank Nifty is trading lower by 0.22 percent at 9.30 IST. The broader markets are trading mixed as the Nifty mid is trading lower by 0.24 percent, while the smallcap index is trading higher by 0.40 percent.

Among the sectors, Media, PSU Bank, and Metal sectors are gaining the most while IT, Financial Services, and Bank are trading lower.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Coal India, Grasim, Power Grid, BPCL, and ITC and the top losing stocks are HDFC Life, TCS, HCL Tech, Divis Labs, and Asian Paints.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are HDFC Bank, L&T, and ICICI Bank, in terms of volume Tata Steel, Power Grid, and NTPC

 

Asian Stock Market Live Today

 

The other Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading lower on Wednesday, following the negative cues from US markets and as investors access the key economic data from Japan and South Korea. 

The latest data showed that the corporate confidence in Japan declined in September, both manufacturers and non-manufacturers, according to the Reuters Tankan poll. South Korea’s unemployment rate dipped to its lowest level since June 1999.

Japan’s Nikkei is trading lower by 0.30 percent, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 extended early losses, and is trading lower by 0.81 percent. Kospi erased early gains and is trading marginally lower by 0.15 percent, Hang Seng pared early gains and turned negative, while Shanghai extended early losses and trading lower by 0.87 percent. 

Elsewhere, Straits Times, Taiwan, Jakarta, and SET composite all are trading in the red at 9.05 a.m. IST
