Nifty and Sensex End Marginally Higher; Metal, Energy Stocks Shine

Sensex and Nifty Today 14 June 2023: Indian stock market indexes ended marginally higher on Wednesday amid positive global cues. The domestic markets traded in a narrow range ahead of the US Fed interest rate decision, which is due later in the day.

Earlier in the morning, immediately after opening flat, the domestic markets turned into the red, as investors were cautious ahead of the US Fed interest rate outcome. The Indian equity benchmarks erased all of their losses and turn positive in early afternoon deals, amid easing WPI inflation. India’s wholesale price index (WPI) inflation maintained the declining trend in the month of May 2023 at (-) 3.48% as against (-) 0.92% recorded in April 2023.

However, gains were limited, as a private Weather forecasting agency predicted a bleak monsoon in India over the next four weeks, raising concerns about the impact on agriculture.
