Stock Markets News and Updates Today

The domestic markets got some support, as the finance ministry said in its monthly economic review stated that India’s growth and stability concerns are less than that of the world at large, and estimated the country’s medium-term growth rate above 6 percent. The market upside remained capped as the RBI showed that India’s forex reserves dropped by $4.50 billion to $528.37 billion for the week ended October 14.

However, markets remained cautious, as foreign investors have pulled out nearly Rs 8,000 crore from the Indian equity markets so far in the wake of strength in the US dollar against the rupee. Some cautiousness also came ahead of the monthly F&O expiry on Thursday, as the market will remain closed on Wednesday due to Bhai Dooj.

On the global front, other Asian market indexes closed mixed on Tuesday. The market sentiments were mixed as positive cues from the US markets were offset by China’s delayed economic data Monday, a day after the conclusion of a key Communist Party congress, showing weak growth and prompting markets to plunge. European markets key indexes trimed their early gains and are trading mixed on Tuesday.
