Nifty and Sensex Surge Following Gains in Asian Markets

Sensex and Nifty Today Oct 10, 2023: Indian stock market indices opened higher on Tuesday, following the positive cues from Asian counterparts. The Nifty index opened higher by 53.25 points at 19565.60 levels, while Sensex also opened positive by 149.89 points at 65662.28 levels. The Bank Nifty opened advanced at 141.05 points at the 44027.55 level.

Market Live at 9.35 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 0.42 percent and 0.40 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading higher by 0.47 percent at 9.35 a.m. IST. The broader markets are outperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 0.64 percent and 0.72 percent respectively.

Among the sectors, barring Pharma all sectoral indices are trading in the green. The leading sectors are Realty, Auto, and PSU Bank.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Adani Power, Tata Motors, Adani Enterprise, M&M, and ONGC and the top losing stocks are Dr. Reddy, TCS, Cipla, Divis Lab, and HUL

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finance, in terms of volume Tata Steel, ONGC, and HDFC Bank.

 

Asian Stock Market Live Updates Today

 

The other Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading higher on Tuesday following the gains from Wall Street overnight and as the crude oil prices eased after a rally. Investors shrugged off pressures from the Hamas attack on Israel and bet on the recent beaten-down stocks.

Japan’s Nikkei is gaining the most and is higher by 2.28 percent, while Australia’s S&P ASX 200 extended previous session gains by 1.19 percent. South Korea’s Kospi trimmed some intraday gains and is trading higher by 0.62 percent. Shanghai erased early gains and is trading lower by 0.50 percent, while Hang Seng is trading higher by 0.94 percent at 9.10 am IST. 

Elsewhere, the Straits Times, Jakarta, and SET composite are trading higher while Taiwan is not trading today due to a holiday.
