Stock Market News

The key benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty50 share price traded range-bound after opening a gap down in the morning trading session due to subdued global cues, a spike in crude oil prices, and persistent selling by FIIs. Traders remained cautious with private reports stating that hiring demand witnessed a dip of 3 percent in October sequentially, mainly due to a decline in recruitment of professionals in the purchase, logistics, and supply chain after festive hiring hikes in September.

Traders also took note of the report that the borrowing cost for the states has declined sharply to 6.81 percent at the weekly auctions held on November 9, mainly because they raised shorter tenor funds and 37 percent less than notified.

Meanwhile, the credit rating agency ICRA in its latest report said that there is an improvement in domestic air passenger traffic in October 2021, due to a continuous decline in Covid-19 cases. The domestic air passenger grew by a 67 percent YoY at around 87-88 lakh in October 2021 as compared to 52.71 lakhs reported in October 2020.

In the post-lunch session, markets got some support as buying witnessed in Auto, Pharma, and Energy space. The key benchmark Sensex and Nifty50 share price erased most of their intraday losses and closed marginally lower. The Nifty50 share price took support near 17900 levels and bounced back in the afternoon session and closed marginally lower in the end.
