Sensex and Nifty50 index bounced back today after yesterday’s fall

Bank Nifty was trading volatile during the day, Telecom and Banking & Finance stocks were in focus today. In the end, markets closed on positive notes today, Nifty close above 12850.

The market sentiment was positive as SEBI in its latest report showed that investment through participatory notes (P-notes) in the capital market surged due to global liquidity and measures taken by the Indian government. Some optimism also came with the ICRA’s latest report that stated the YoY contraction in India’s GDP will narrow appreciably to 9.5% in Q2FY21 from 23.9% in the previous quarter.

On the global market front, Asian markets were closed mostly in the green even after surging coronavirus cases and chances of fresh lockdown and restriction in the US and some other parts of the world. European markets are trading marginally higher today. The US futures markets are trading almost flat on the last day of the week.
