Weekly Global Stock Market Analysis

Global market weekly updates
Global market weekly updates

The major global stock market indexes were closed mixed during the week ended 10 Sept. The US market indexes closed in the red during the truncated week ended 10 Sept. The surges in delta variants of covid infection have started to slow down the rebounding economy in the US. The investors are concern about the recent slowdown in the economic data and uncertainty about the Fed’s tapering program.

European markets were closed in the red on a weekly basis. The markets declined due to the uncertainty about the economic outlook and surge in coronavirus cases and central bank policy. The ECB, after its latest policy meeting, decided to move to a ‘moderately lower pace’ of bond purchasing program.

Japanese markets gained during the week ended 9 Sept due to political optimism and expectations of further fiscal stimulus under a new prime minister. Some positivity also came as the latest data shows Japan’s economy faster than initially estimated in the second quarter.

Chinese stock market index rose for the third straight week. The strong export data and an unexpected yet reportedly candid phone conversation between the US and Chinese presidents lifted investors’ sentiment.
