Stock Market News

Indian markets were trading volatile on Monday due to the weakness in the global markets. Asian markets were trading in the red in the morning session due to a surge in oil prices and in expectation of rising inflation. The market sentiments were subdued as investors remain cautious with RBI’s data, that the country’s foreign exchange reserve fell by $1.763 billion to $630.19 billion in the week ending 11 February.

However the markets turned positive after Skymet’s report, India’s private weather forecasting solutions company expects the monsoon to be normal this upcoming season, the detailed reports are expected in the month of April 2022. The volatility in the Indian markets continues till the last hours, as Indian key benchmark indices fell again due to the tension between Russia and Ukraine.

On the global front, Asian markets closed in the red today due to concerns about geopolitical tensions. Japan’s Nikkei closed 0.78 percent lower as the factory activity growth reported 5 months low in February as the Jibun Bank flash PMI reports. European markets trim their early gains and are trading mixed at this moment at 3 pm IST. US markets will be closed today due to President Day.
