Market Live today 30 April: Sensex and Nifty50 are trading lower, Banking stocks are down

 

Sensex and Nifty50 live today 30 April: Indian stock market opened lower on Friday as indicated by the Asian market peers. Sensex made a negative opening of 405.05 points at 49360.89 levels while Nifty50 opened at 14747.35 levels, down by 147.55 points. The Bank Nifty on the spot price made a gap down opening 602.1 points at 33112.40 levels.

At 10 am IST, Sensex, and Nifty50 are trading lower by 0.48 percent and 0.37 percent respectively while Bank Nifty is trading 1.20 percent down at this moment.

ONGC, Wipro, and Coal India are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty50 index whereas HDFC Bank, HDFC, and ICICI Bank are trading as the top losers. The most active stocks in the Nifty50 index at this moment are JSW Steel, Tata Steel, and Wipro.

On a sectoral basis, Metals, Capital Goods, Healthcare and IT sectors are trading higher. On the losing side, Banking, Automobiles, Finance, and FMCG sectors are trading in the red at this moment.

 

Sensex and Nifty50 are likely to open in the red

Asian markets are mostly trading in the red today despite positive cues from Wall Street. Nikkei and Hang Sang are trading lower by 0.53 percent and 1.18 percent respectively. Shanghai is trading 0.45 percent down at this moment. The SGX Nifty is also trading lower by 141 points. The indications getting from the Asian markets are negative for the domestic markets. Indian key indices Sensex and Nifty50 may open in the red today. 

The US markets ended in the green on Thursday as investors cheered encouraging economic data, a strong batch of quarterly earnings, and the prospect of $1.8 trillion in the new stimulus package. The US market index Dow Jones and S&P 500 closed higher by 0.71 percent and 0.68 percent respectively while Nasdaq was up 0.22 percent on Thursday

European markets closed lower on Thursday even after banking shares hit a 14-months high on strong quarterly earnings. A rise in eurozone bond yields saw investors booking profits at record high levels. The European market indices FTSE and CAC closed marginally lower by 0.03 percent and 0.07 percent respectively whereas DA was down by 0.90 percent on Thursday.

Indian stock markets erased most of their early gains and managed to close in the green on Thursday. The key benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty50 gained 0.06 percent and 0.20 percent respectively. FIIs were the buyers and DIIs were the seller in the cash markets. FIIs bought Rs 809.37 crores whereas DIIs sold Rs 942.35 crores in the cash market on Thursday.

 

 

News that may impact the Sensex and Nifty50 live today

 

The 2021 Assembly elections to the states of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and UT Puducherry have now completed and exit poll results are started flashing on the news channel. 

As per the exit poll results, there will be a close fight between BJP and TMC in WB, whereas BJP will get a majority in Assam, LDF likely to return in Kerala, DMK+ will get a majority in Tamil Nadu, and NDA in Puducherry. Indian markets may react to the exit polls results tomorrow.

According to the CMIE report, India’s unemployment rate has shot up in the first two weeks of April. The monthly unemployment rate is likely to be close to 8 percent compared to 6.5 percent in March with lower absorption of labor in the market.
