Sensex reclaims 60000 levels, Nifty end above 17900
Sensex and Nifty Today 12 Sept 2022: The Indian stock markets opened higher on Monday amid positive cues from the global markets. Nifty today opened at 17890.85 levels, up by 57.5 points while Sensex made a positive opening of 119.5 points at 59912.29 levels. Indian markets traded in a narrow range after opening higher and closed positively today.

The market sentiments remained optimistic as Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said assessing the impact of the foundational changes and structural transformation that has happened in the last few years, the confederation of Indian Industry (CII) estimated that India in 2047 will be a $35-45 trillion economy, taking the country into the league of developed nations.
Markets got some support from External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s statement that India has made robust efforts to grow its economy and emerge as a higher-income country and expressed hope that it will be the fastest growing major economy in the world this year with at least 7 percent growth despite the challenges posed by the Ukraine crisis. Investors were also cautious ahead of the country’s economic data which is due later in the day
On the global front, Asian markets were closed in the green on Monday tracking positive cues from the US markets on Friday. Investors are in hope that a key reading on US inflation data which is due on Tuesday will show some cooling. European markets are also trading higher following positive cues from their Asian peers.
Sensex and Nifty at the close today
The Nifty50 index was up by 103 points or 0.58 percent and closed at 17936.35 levels while the Sensex gained by 321.99 points or 0.54 percent and finished at 60115.13 levels. The Bank Nifty index ended higher today by 158.30 points or 0.39 percent on the spot level and ended at 40574
The broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices today, the Nifty midcap index was up by 309.55 points or 0.97 percent and closed at 32345.45 levels. The Nifty smallcap index closed higher today by 132 points or 1.33 percent at 10068.35 levels.
Nifty50 Stocks top gainers and losers today
The top gainers in the Nifty50 Stocks were Adani Ports, Titan Company, Divis Labs, Tech Mahindra, and Axis Bank and the top losers were Coal India, Shree Cement, HDFC, Nestle, and Bajaj Finserve
The midcap top gainers were Hindustan Aeron, Navin Fluorine, and Deepak Nitrate and the top losers were Dhani Services, Indiabulls Hsg, and Laurus Labs
The top gainers in the Nifty smallcap index were KEC Intl, Fine Organics, and Welspun India and the top losers were Shilpa, BEML, and Tanla Platforms
The most active stocks in the Nifty index in terms of value were Axis bank, Adani Ports, and Reliance The most active stocks in terms of volume were Tata Steel, Coal India, and Axis Bank
On the sectoral front, all sectoral indices were closed in the green today. The sectors that lifted the markets were Realty, Media, IT, Consumer Goods, and Metals
