Stock Market Closing Bell- Nifty closed above 14800 levels, Sensex gains 256 points today

 

 

Closing Bell-The Indian stock markets opened higher on Friday amid positive global cues. Firm trade continued throughout the day with both Sensex and Nifty trading above their crucial levels 14800 ( Nifty ) and 49000 ( Sensex). The Bank Nifty traded volatile in a narrow range today. In the end, markets closed in the positive territory today.

Traders were positive, as the Finance Ministry has released the second monthly installment of revenue deficit grant of Rs 9871 crore to 17 states. With the release of the second installments, a total amount of Rs 19742 crore has been released in the first two months of the current financial year as post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant to the states. 

The upside of the markets remained capped due to the concerns that India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) in its latest report has said the restrictions due to the second wave of coronavirus could impact energy demand growth recovery in the first quarter of FY22.

 

Stock market at closing- Sensex, Nifty, & Bank Nifty on the spot price

 

At the close, Nifty was up by 98.35 points or 0.67 percent and closed at 14823.15 levels while Sensex gained 256.71 points or 0.53 percent and finished at 49206.47 levels. The Bank Nifty traded volatile today gained 76.70 points on the spot price and ended at 32904.50 levels.

The midcap and smallcap indexes closed mixed today. The Nifty midcap fell 93.35 points or 0.38 percent and closed at 24545.65 levels. The nifty smallcap index gained 61.10 points or 0.70 percent and ended at 8737.20 levels.

The top five gainers in the Nifty50 index were Tata Steel, Hindalco, JSW Steel, Adani Ports, and SBI Life. The top five losers in the Nifty50 index were Tata Cons Product, Bajaj Auto, Hero Motor Corp, Eicher Motors, and Divis Lab. The most active stocks in the Nifty50 index were Tata Steel, JSW Steel, and Hindalco. 

On a sectoral basis, the Metals, Finance, Infrastructure, Telecom, and Real Estate sectors closed higher. On the losing side, Capital Goods, Hospitality, and Consumer Durables sectors closed in the red today.

Derivate market at close: Nifty & Bank Nifty futures 

 

The Nifty futures share price today opened at 14835. It made a positive opening of 65.05 points. It has touched an intraday high at 14908 and a day’s low at 14803.10

The Nifty futures share price has given a movement of 104.9 points. In the end, it gained 90.05 points or 0.61 percent and closed at 14860 levels.

The Bank Nifty futures share price opened at 33203.35 It made a positive opening of 249.6 points today. It has touched an intraday high at 33367.65 and a day’s low at 32861.70

During the day, the Bank Nifty futures share price has given a movement of 505.95 points. In the end, it closed higher by 51.3 points or 0.16 percent and closed at 33005.05 levels.

 

Global market updates today

 

On the global front, Asian stock markets were mostly closed in the green today after China’s exports grew more than expected in April due to strong global demand. European markets are trading higher on Friday due to the strong economic data from Germany and other major economies. 

The market sentiments are also positive due to better-than-expected corporate earnings and the hopes of a swift economic recovery from the pandemic in Europe. The US futures indices, Dow, and Nasdaq futures are trading marginally higher at this moment at 3.30 pm IST.

 

Conclusions

 

Indian stock markets closed another positive trading session today. Today’s rally mainly supported by the metals sector, the metal index gained more than 4 percent today. The market is looking positive at this moment, Nifty is heading towards 15200  but it needs to close above 14900 levels.
