Stock Market Live: Sensex and Nifty are trading flat, looking for direction
Stock Market Live: Indian stock market indices opened flat on Wednesday, amid positive cues from global markets. The Nifty index opened higher by 28.45 points at 18744.60 levels, while Sensex opened lower by 27.68 points at 63115.48 levels. The Bank Nifty opened higher by 101.8 points at 44181.65 levels

Market Live at 9.30 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading flat, Sensex is down by 0.04 percent while Nifty is up by 0.03 percent. The Bank Nifty is also trading flat at 9.30 IST. In the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap index is trading flat following its larger peers, while smallcap indexes are trading slightly higher by 0.21 percent.
Among the sectors, the Nifty Metal, PSU Bank, and Energy sectoral indices are trading higher, while IT Pharma, and Financial Services sectors are trading in the red.
The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are JSW Steel, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Power Grid, and Grasim and the top losing stocks are Bharti Airtel, HUL, SBI Life, IndusInd, and Bajaj Finance
The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Reliance, Tata Steel, and HDFC in terms of volume Tata Steel, Hindalco and Tata Motors.

Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading higher on Wednesday, tracking gains from Wall Street overnight after a cooler reading on US retail inflation. The better-than-expected US CPI inflation data fueled hopes among traders that Fed will skip interest rate hikes at Wednesday’s meeting.
Japan’s Nikkei is continuing to trade at a new high. South Korea’s unemployment rate in May declined from the previous month. Kospi is trading negative at this moment. Shanghai is trading slightly higher, while Hang Seng, SET Composite, and Taiwan are trading flat at this moment. The US future indexes, Dow and Nasdaq futures are trading slightly negatively.
