Stock Market Live: Nifty trading above 17550, Sensex gains 800 pts
Stock Market Live Updates Today 3 March 2023: Indian stock markets made a gap-up opening on Friday tracking positive global cues. The Nifty index opened at 17451.21 levels up by 129.35 points while Sensex made an optimistic opening at 59241.20, up by 331.85 points. The domestic markets extended their early gains and are trading on a strong note.
Other than the positive global cues the market sentiments were upbeat due to the strong performance of the ruling party in the assembly polls in the northeastern states of Tripura, Nagaland, and Meghalaya. The domestic indices are trading in fine fettle with gains of over 1% each on account of value buying. Sensex and Nifty are trading above their psychological levels of Sensex 59500 and 17500 levels respectively.
FIIs inflows also added support to domestic sentiments. As the NSE provisional data showed foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 12,770.81 crore on March 2. Sentiments got further boosted as Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran expressed hope that the GDP growth for the current financial year will exceed the projected 7 percent in view of the expected revision of high-frequency data.

Market Live at 12.20 pm IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 1.41 percent and 1.44 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading very strong, up by 2.21 percent at 12.20 pm IST. The broader markets are trading higher now, as Nifty midcap and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 0.72 percent and 0.89 respectively.
Among the sectors, all sectoral indices are trading higher at this moment with the Nifty PSU Bank, Metals, and Banking leading. The top three Nifty 50 stocks at this moment are Adani Enter, Adani Ports, and SBI while the top losing stocks are Ultratech Cement, TechM, and Cipla
