Stock Market LIVE: Sensex, Nifty Trade Lower Ahead of RBI Policy Outcome

Stock Market LIVE Today Aug 10, 2023: Indian stock market indices opened lower on Thursday tracking the negative cues from Global Markets. The Nifty index opened lower by 27 points at 19605.55 levels, while Sensex also opened negative by 50.42 points at 65945.39 levels. The Bank Nifty also made a lower opening of 83.05 points at the 44797.65 level.

Market Live at 9.30 am IST-  Traders remained on the sideline ahead of the RBI Monetary Policy. the frontline indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading lower by 0.32 percent and 0.28 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is also trading lower by 0.39 percent at 9.30 IST.

The broader markets are outperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 0.22 percent and 0.25 percent respectively.

Among the sectors, Media, Energy, and Metal are trading as top gainers while IT, FMCG, and Bank are dragging the indexes.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are ONGC, Adani Enterprise, BPCL, Adani Ports, and Bajaj Auto, and the top losing stocks are Asian Paints, HCL tech, Hero Motors, Tata Steel, and ITC.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are  HDFC Bank, Adani Enterprise, and Reliance in terms of volume Tata Steel, ONGC, and SBI.

 

Asian Stock Market Live Updates

 

Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading lower on Thursday, as investors remain cautious ahead of the US CPI inflation reading for July later in the day. According to a Reuters poll the inflation rate is likely to come at 3.3% slightly higher than the previous month of 3%.

Nikkei is trading higher by 0.42 percent, as Japan’s wholesale inflation rate in July slowed to 3.6%, down from the revised rate of 4.3% in June. Kospi is trading lower by 0.41 percent. Shanghai erased early gains and is trading lower by 0.12 percent while Hang Seng is also trading lower by 0.97 percent. Elsewhere, SET, Taiwan, and Straits Times are trading in the red while Jakarta is trading higher at 9.05 am IST.
