Stock Market Live Today 1 July: Markets are trading flat, Auto stocks are in focus

 

Market Live Today 1 July: Indian stock markets opened marginally higher on Thursday amid mixed global cues. Nifty opened at 15755.05 levels, up 33.55 points while Sensex made a positive opening of 155.79 points at 52638.50 levels. The Bank Nifty on the spot price level opened at 34866 levels, made a positive opening of 93.8 points.

At 9.40 am IST, the Indian stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are trading flat. The Bank Nifty spot price is also trading flat.

Bajaj Auto, M&M, and Tata Motors are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index whereas IndusInd Bank, Infosys, and Wipro are trading as the top losers. HDFC Bank, Reliance, and Tata Motors are trading as the most active stocks in the Nifty 50 index.

On a sectoral basis, Automobiles, FMCG, and Metals sectors are trading higher whereas IT & Software, Telecom,and Finance sectors are trading in the red.

Asian markets are mostly trading in the red on Thursday amid mixed global cues. Nikkei is trading lower by 0.55 while Shanghai is trading flat at this moment. Hang Seng is not trading today due to a holiday. SGX Nifty is trading flat, down only 8 points. The indication getting from the global market peers is mixed. The Indian stock markets are likely to open flat today.

The U.S markets closed in a mixed state on Wednesday on the final day of trading in the second quarter. Investors believe that the second quarter of 2021 powered by economic recovery and is still gathering pace. The U.S market indexes, Dow and S&P 500 gained 0.61 percent and 0.13 percent respectively. Nasdaq Composite was marginally declined by 0.17 percent on Wednesday.

European markets closed lower due to the worries about the rising inflation and Delta variant Covid-19 cases in the region. European market indexes FTSE and CAC fell 0.71 percent and 0.91 percent respectively. While DAX closed lower by 1.02 percent on Wednesday.

Indian stock markets closed marginally lower on Wednesday. The key benchmark indexes, Sensex and Nifty declined 0.13 percent and 017 percent respectively. FIIs were the sellers and DIIs were the buyers in the cash market. FIIs sold Rs 1646.66 crores while DIIs bought Rs 1520.18 crores in the cash market on Wednesday.

The combined output of the eight core sector industries rose by 16.8 percent in May due to the low base effect. This is as compared to the previous year. Core sector output had risen by a massive 60 percent in the previous month in April. As per the data released by the commerce and industry ministry on June 30 showed production declined in two out of the eight core sector industries- Crude oil and fertilizers.

According to the RBI data released on Wednesday, 30 June, India’s external debt surged by USD 11.5 billion YoY to USD 570 billion as of March-end 2021. The external debt to GDP ratio rose to 21.1 percent as of March-end 2021 from 20.6 percent the previous year, as per the fresh data showed by RBI.

World Bank on Wednesday said it has approved a $500 million loan program to support India’s informal working class to overcome the current pandemic distress. The loan will create greater flexibility for states to cope with an ongoing pandemic, future climate, and disaster shocks, as per World Bank
