Stock Market Live: Nifty trading near 17400, Bank Nifty down 700 pts
Stock Market Live Updates Today 10 March 2023: It was a gap-down opening for the Indian stock markets on Friday amid weak global cues. The Nifty index opened at 17443.80 levels, down by 145.8 points while Sensex opened negative by 546.45 points at 59259.83 levels. Soon after opening the domestic markets extended their losses and are trading in a deep red.
Sensex and Nifty extended their previous session’s losses tracking a crash overnight on Wall Street due to a heavy selloff in the banking and financial sectors. The renewed fear of rising aggressive interest rates and recession concerns investors globally. Traders are also looking ahead to the release of the more closely watched monthly US farm-payroll data later in the day.
The domestic markets are trading with deep cuts above one percent each at this moment. Sensex and Nifty are lingering just above their crucial 59,000 and 17,350 levels, respectively.
FIIs outflows also dampened domestic market sentiments today, as NSE’s provisional data showed foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 561.78 crore on Thursday. Traders remained cautious ahead of the industrial growth or Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data to be out later in the day

Market Live at 12 pm IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading lower by 1.18 percent and 1.07 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is down by 1.72 percent at 12 pm IST. The broader markets are also trading lower at this moment, as the Nifty midcap index is trading lower by 0.89 percent while smallcap index is trading down by 0.72 percent
Among the sectors, barring FMCG all other sectoral indices are trading lower. The sectors that are dragging down the markets are Nifty PSU Bank, Bank, and Financial Services. The top gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Tata Motors, BPCL, and Bajaj Auto, and the top losing stocks are Adani Enterprise, Apollo Hospital, and HDFC Bank
