Stock Market Live at 2.10 pm IST, the Indian stock market indices trimmed early gains ahead of the expiry of the weekly index options on the NSE. Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 0.46 percent and 0.36 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading higher by 0.30 percent at 2.10 pm IST. The broader markets are underperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading lower by 1.07 percent and 0.97 percent respectively.

European markets are trading slightly higher, as traders are hoping that Fed would end the interest rate hike soon and the UK’s GDP growth in May contracted less than expected. Asian stock markets closed higher on Thursday tracking the positive cues from Wall Street.

Stock Market Live at 12.40 pm IST, the Indian stock market indices hit a new high on Thursday amid positive global cues. Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 0.87 percent at 65975 levels and 0.79 percent at 19540 levels respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading higher by 0.80 percent at 44997 levels at 12.40 pm IST. The broader markets are underperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 0.19 percent and 0.31 percent respectively.

Among the sectors, Media, Energy, and Pharma sectors are trading in the red while IT, Realty, and Fin Services are trading as top gainers.

European stock markets are likely to open marginally higher after cooler-than-expected US inflation data released on Wednesday and as the UK economy contracted 0.1% in May, less than market expectation. The other Asian stock markets indexes mostly closed with solid gains on Thursday. Nikkei and Shanghai gained over 1 percent while Kospi also ended with a decent gain. Hang Seng is trading higher around 2.5% due to a rally in tech stocks.

The Nifty index opened higher by 110.9 points at 19495.20 levels, while Sensex also opened higher by 273.17 points at 65667.07 levels. The Bank Nifty made a positive opening of 369.85 points at the 45009.30 level.

The other Asian stock market indexes are trading higher on Thursday as the US headline and core inflation slowed more than expected in June. Hang Seng index trading over 2.5% due to a rally in the tech index.
