Market Live Today 6 July- Markets are trading marginally higher, Auto, Banks, Metals stocks are positive

 

Market Live today 6 July: Indian stock market opened flat amid positive cues from the global markets. The benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex opened slightly lower on Tuesday. Nifty opened at 15813.75 levels down by 20.6 points while Sensex opened only 5.15 points lower at 52874.85 levels. The Bank Nifty opened at 35173.60 levels, down by 38.4 points from the previous levels.

At 9.40 am IST, Indian stock market indexes are trading marginally higher at this moment. Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 0.09 percent and 0.15 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty on spot level is trading 0.47 percent higher.

ONGC, Tata Motors, and Ultratech Cement are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index whereas Tech Mahindra, TCS, and HUL are trading as the top losers. The most active stocks at this moment in the Nifty 50 index are Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance, and ONGC.

On a sectoral basis, Auto, Banks, Finance, and Metal sectors are trading higher whereas IT & Software, FMCG and Healthcare sectors are trading marginally lower.

 

Indian stock markets are likely to open higher

Asian markets are mostly trading in the green on Tuesday. Nikkei is trading higher by 0.48 percent whereas Hang Seng and Shanghai are trading flat at this moment. SGX Nifty is trading lower by 16 points at 15847 levels. The indication getting from the Asian markets is positive, Indian stock markets are likely to open higher today.

The U.S stock markets were closed on Monday on account of Independence Day observed on July 4. The markets were closed on higher last Friday due to upbeat monthly job data.

European markets gained on Monday due to strong eurozone business activity data and a sharp rise in Morrisons share helped to offset worries about the rising delta variant of Covid-19 infections. European market indices FTSE gained 0.58 percent while CAC and DAX gained 0.22 percent and 0.08 percent respectively

Indian stock markets closed higher on Monday amid positive global cues. The key benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty closed higher by 0.75 percent and 0.71 percent respectively. FIIs were sellers while DIIs were the buyers in the cash market on Monday. FIIs sold Rs 338.43 crores while DIIs bought Rs 645.59 crores in the cash market segment on 5 July 2021.

According to the foreign brokerage house Nomura, the country’s business activity picked up for the sixth consecutive week, signaling a faster rebound compared to the first wave of pandemics. The Nomura India Business Resumption Index (NIBRI) jumped to 91.3 for the week ended July 4 from 86.3 in the previous week, the Japanese Brokerage House Nomura said on Monday.

The retail prices of pulses are showing a declining trend after the government’s intervention of stocks limit. The recent imposition of stock limits on the wholesalers, retails, millers, and importers of pulses will further have a cooling effect on retail prices said Union Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey on Monday.
