Stock Market LIVE Today: Sensex and Nifty Soar as All Sectors Paint a Green Picture

Stock Market LIVE Today, 2 November 2023: Indian stock market indexes opened a gap-up on Thursday following the positive global cues. The global market sentiments turned positive as the US Federal Reserve held the key interest rates overnight and hinted that the central bank is done with the most aggressive rate hiking cycle.

Nifty today opened a gap-up of 130.85 points at the 19120 level, while Sensex jumped 442.07 points and opened at the 64033.40 level. The Bank Nifty index also opened higher by 317.75 points at the 43018.70 level.

 

Stock Market Live Today 

 

Market Live at 9.35 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 0.89 percent and 0.90 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading higher by 1.12 percent at 9.35 IST. The broader markets are outperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 1.30 percent and 1.14 percent respectively.

Among the sectors, all sectoral indices are trading in the green. The leading sectors are Realty, PSU Bank, and IT

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Britannia, LTIM, Adani Enterprise, Titan, and IndusInd Bank and the top losing stocks are  Tata Steel, Hero Motors, ONGC, HUL, and TechM.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, and Reliance, and in terms of volume are Tata Steel, Axis Bank, and Tata Motors.

 

Asian Stock Market Live Updates Today

 

The other Asian stock market indexes are trading higher on Thursday tracking the positive cues from the US markets overnight. Investors cheered as the US Fed kept the interest rate unchanged amid strong economic growth and higher inflation above the central bank’s target. 

Japan’s Nikkei is trading higher by 0.97% while Australia’s S&P ASX 200 index is up by 1.02%. South Korea’s Kospi is trading higher by 1.69% despite the latest data showing that the country’s CPI inflation rose for the third straight month in October.

The Shanghai and Hang Seng Indexes are also trading higher by 0.11% and 1.10% respectively. Elsewhere, the Straits Times is trading marginally higher, while Taiwan, SET Composite, and Jakarta Composite are trading on a strong note at 9.10 am IST.
