Stock Market LIVE Today: Sensex, Nifty Dip Amid Declines in Auto, Media, and FMCG

Stock Market LIVE Today, 30 October 2023: Indian stock market indexes opened slightly higher on Monday amid mixed cues from the Asian markets. The domestic markets turned negative soon after opening and trading marginally lower.

Nifty today opened slightly higher by 6.15 points at the 19053.40 level, while Sensex made a positive opening of 102.76 points at the 63885.56 level. The Bank Nifty index opened lower by 60.6 points at the 42721.40 level.

Stock Market Live Today at 9.40 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading lower by 0.36 percent and 0.37 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading lower by 0.73 percent at 9.40 IST. The broader markets are also trading lower following their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading lower by 0.66 percent and 0.25 percent respectively.

Among the sectors, Auto, Media, and FMCG are dragging the markets at this moment while Energy, Pharma, and Realty sectors are slightly up.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Cipla, BPCL, Reliance, TechM, and SBI Life and the top losing stocks are Tata Motors, M&M, Bajaj Finserve, Maruti, and Axis Bank.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Reliance, Maruti, and HDFC Bank, and in terms of volume are  Tata Steel, Reliance, and BPCL.

 

Asian Stock Market Live Updates Today

 

The other Asian stock market indexes are trading mixed as investors are looking ahead to key economic data across the region. Nikkei is trading lower by 1.12 percent, as Japan’s central bank started its two-day monetary policy meeting on Monday.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 is trading lower by 0.51 percent, and the country’s retail sales data rose faster than expected in September.

South Korea’s Kospi is trading higher by 0.59 percent ahead of the inflation data due later this week. The Shanghai index recovered early losses and is trading higher by 0.16 percent, while Hang Seng is down by 0.11 percent ahead of the GDP data, which is due later this week.

Elsewhere, Taiwan and Jakarta are trading marginally lower, while the Straits Times and SET Composite are trading in the green on Monday at 9 a.m. IST.
