Market Today- Top Gainers and Losers in NSE: Indian markets opened in flat notes amid negative cues from the global markets. The benchmark indices continued to trade weak hovering near their neutral lines today. The Bank Nifty erased all intraday gains and traded volatile in a tight range today. In the end, the market closed in flat notes. 

The negative cues from the other Asian markets in the morning impacted the domestic sentiments on the street. The market sentiments remained negative as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is significant on India’s development and the immediate priority is a coordinated policy response. However, the downside remained capped with the news of disengagement of India China troops from the border.

 

Market Today: NSE top gainers and losers

 

At the close, Nifty gained 15.20 points or 0.14% and at 11464.45 while Sensex was up by 14.23 points or 0.04% and at 38854.55 levels. The Bank Nifty on the spot levels also closed in the green today. It gained 13.75 points or 0.07% and closed at 22479.95 levels.

The Nifty mid-cap and small-cap 100 indices closed in the green today. The mid-cap index gained 112.75 points or 0.68% and at 16765.80 levels. The Nifty small-cap index closed higher by 15.35 points or 0.27% and closed at 5650.15.

The top gainers in NSE today are Wipro, SBI, Tech Mahindra, TCS, and UPL. The top losers in NSE are Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank, Power Grid Corp, Coal India, and Bharti Airtel. The most active stocks in NSE for the day were Reliance, Bajaj Finance, and Wipro.

The top gainers in NSE mid-cap for the day are CPFORGE Ltd, Mannapuran Fin, and the top losers in NSE midcap are JSW Energy and Cummins. In the smallcap space, the top gainers in NSE today are Strides Pharma, Kajaria Ceramic, and the top losers in NSE are Granules India and Cyient.

On a sectoral basis, the top sectoral gainers in NSE are IT & Software, Metals & Minings, Capital Goods, FMCG, and Healthcare. On the other hand, the top losing sectors in NSE are Manufacturing, Telecom, Power, Media, and Construction Materials.

 

NSE Nifty and Bank Nifty futures today (Sept Expiry)

 

The NSE Nifty futures opened at 11430.40, and it made a positive opening of 24.95 points today. It has touched an intraday high at 11487.40 and a day’s low at 11415.25

The NSE Nifty futures has given a movement of 72.15 points. In the end, it closed higher by  11.65 points or 0.10% and closed at 11467 levels.

The NSE banking index Bank Nifty futures opened at 22450.55. It was made a negative opening of 56.05 points today. It has touched an intraday high at 22676 and a day’s low at 22226

During the day, the Bank Nifty futures has given a movement of 450 points. In the end, it gained 68.4 points or 0.30% and closed at 22575 levels.

 

Global Market Today

 

On the global front, other Asian markets are closed mixed today despite  Malaysia’s industrial production returned to growth in July for the first time since February 2020. The European markets are trading in flat notes. The US markets Dow and Nasdaq futures are trading strong today.

Conclusions

Indian markets closed in a positive today amid negative global cues. Today markets traded flat notes as traders are cautious over increasing coronavirus cases in the country. The Nifty closed above 11450 levels and inching towards 11500-11600 levels.
