Trade Setup for Friday 01 July 2022: Stock Market News

 

 

Trade setup for Friday– Good morning and welcome to the morning reports, the top things to know before the stock market opens today July 01, 2022

Asian markets are mostly trading in the red on Friday, following negative cues from Wall Street overnight. Nikkei and Shanghai are trading lower by 0.83 percent and 0.55 percent respectively. Hang Seng is not trading today, due to a holiday. SGX Nifty is trading flat at this moment at 7.30 am IST.

The indications getting from the Asian market peers are negative, Indian markets may start in a cautious mode. Nifty may open around 15700 levels today.

 

The US and European market Indexes update

 

The US stock market indexes closed lower on the final day of the brutal quarter of the markets. Markets were volatile on Thursday. Investors were monitoring the May month’s core personal consumption expenditures index. The data showed personal incomes in the US had continued to grow steadily but spending had come in lower than expected.

The US market indexes, Dow Jones and S&P 500 declined 0.82 percent and 0.88 percent respectively while Nasdaq was down by 1.33 percent on Thursday.

European markets closed lower on Thursday as concerns about surging inflation and interest rate hikes triggered heavy selling across various sectors in most of the markets in the region. The fresh data showed that UK GDP rose 0.8% from the fourth quarter, in line with the expectation. UK’s house price index reported double-digit growth in June, slightly lower than the previous month. 

France’s consumer price inflation accelerated faster than it was expected in June. The European market indexes, FTSE and CAC fell 1.96 percent and 1.80 percent respectively while DAX was down by 1.69 percent on Thursday.

Indian stock market updates

 

Indian stock markets ended almost flat to the negative after a volatile trading session on Thursday. The benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty closed slightly lower by 0.02 percent and 0.12 percent respectively on the F&O expiry day. FIIs were the net sellers, they sold Rs 1138.05 crore while DIIs bought Rs 1378.2 crore on Thursday in the equity cash segment.

Top news you should read before the trade setup for Friday 01 July 2022.

 

On Thursday the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) showed the data that the central government’s fiscal deficit at the end of May stood at 12.3% of the annual budget target of FY2022-23, due to high expenditure. The fiscal deficit was at 8.2% of the Budget Estimated for 2021-22 during the same period. In actual terms, the deficit was shown at Rs 203921 crore at the end of May as per the official data released by CGA.

On Thursday, RBI in its Financial Stability Report of June has signaled that on the back of adequate capital buffers and improving asset quality levels, the Indian banking system is now well-positioned to support economic growth. The Gross Non- Performing  Asset (GNPA) ratio fell to a six-year low of 5.9% in March 2022. The Net Non-Performing Assets (NNPA) ratio fell to 1.7% in March 2022

The central bank further said that the GNPA may improve to 5.3% by March 2023, driven by higher expected bank credit growth and a declining trend in the stock of GNPAs, among other factors.

According to the RBI data released on Thursday, the country’s external debt rose by 8% in FY22 to $620.7 billion as short-term debt rose to 20% during the year. Whereas the debt to GDP ratio declined marginally to 19.9%. According to the RBI data, the long-term debt rose 5.6% to $499 billion, short -term debt has gone up by 20% to $121 billion.
