Weekly Market Update-Top Gainers and Losers
Weekly Indian Stock Market Update ( 28 Nov – 2 Dec): Indian stock markets closed higher for the week that ended on 2 December. The benchmark indices gained about 1 percent during the week. The market sentiments remain positive as US Fed Chair Powell indicated a slowdown in interest rate hikes in the December meeting. The FIIs inflow and positive economic data during the week also supported the market sentiments.
Both the key equity indices hit their all-time highs during the week on Wednesday, with Sensex scaling 63583.07 and Nifty hitting 18887.60. Among the sectors, media, Realty, Metals, and FMCG gained the most. FIIs were the net buyers, they bought 15067.55 crores worth of shares in the Indian equity markets while DIIs sold Rs 1335.57 crore worth of shares during the week.
Weekly Indian Stock Market Indexes update (28 Nov – 2 Dec )
On a weekly basis, Indian equity market indexes continued their upward journey. Sensex gained 574.86 points or 0.92%, and closed at 62868.5, while the Nifty was up by 183.35 points or 0.99%, and ended at 18696.1 levels. The Bank Nifty index closed slightly higher for the week, up by 119.8 points or 0.28 %, on the spot levels and finished at 43103.75.
The broader markets outperformed the benchmarks this week. The Nifty midcap index jumped by 979.2 points or 3.10 percent, and at 32566.85 levels. The Nifty small-cap index gained by 230.25 points or 2.34 percent and ended at 10079.95 levels during the week.
